FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa. – As a result of an attack performed on one of their ninth-grade schoolmates May 16, two Pennsbury High School 10th-grade students have been expelled for one year, according to Bucks Local News. Additionally, the students are in a juvenile detention facility.
Several of the school’s security cameras captured the incident. A disagreement from the cafeteria filtered out into the crowded hallway. From there, the two suspects attacked the victim, breaking his jaw in two places and knocking several of his teeth loose. Because of the age of the victim, his name has not been released.
The victim was taken to Frankford-Lower Bucks Hospital and then transferred to St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia where he had his jaw wired shut.
The two suspects were charged with recklessly endangering another person, harassment, conspiracy and delinquency of simple assault June 20. The two will be sentenced at a later date.
In response to this, school officials will issue an updated version of the student conduct policy on the first day of school to be signed by students and parents.
