DALLAS – Officials at Lake Highland High School believe that muffins eaten May 16 by 19 school employees were laced with marijuana.
The baked goods, which appeared to be professionally made, were placed in the teachers’ lounge by a man who was recorded on video. The man said the two boxes of muffins were for an Eagle Scout project.
All of the victim employees, which included an 86-year-old teacher, office workers, parking attendants, custodians and teachers’ aides, were treated at a local hospital and then released. They had been complaining of nausea, dry mouth, an increased heart rate and dizziness. No one was seriously injured or ill.
The muffins were tested for other pathogens by the FBI and Dallas police, but it was determined the goods did not contain anything deadly.
