PHOENIX – As many as 16 Arizona hospitals have faced allegations of sex claims from January 2006 to April 2008, according to azcentral.com.
St. Luke’s Medical Center and Chandler Regional Medical Center each have five reports of sexual abuse. Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn has four. The additional 13 hospitals have at least one alleged sexual misconduct act reported to authorities.
Because of this, it has been recommended that hospitals should have electronically locking doors for patient rooms. Additionally, all employees should carry photo keycard badges.
Many hospital administrators stressed that safety was a top priority, going as far as to explain how background checks are completed on employees. Many also described their procedures on how to report abuse.
