MINNEAPOLIS – More than 13,000 former and current students of the University of Minnesota are being notified that their personal information may be at risk.
School officials say two Apple computers were stolen August 15 from a locked, first-floor office of the school’s Institute of Technology. The desktop computers contained information on students entering the institute from as far back as 1991.
More than 600 former students’ Social Security numbers were included in the information stolen. Those individuals have been told to watch their credit reports for suspicious activity.
