Students, Teachers Hospitalized For Exposure to Unknown Substance

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — At least 12 McArthur High School students and two teachers were hospitalized Wednesday after breaking out with rashes.

The students and teachers were exposed to an unknown substance inside a classroom, The Miami Herald reports. They were cleared to go home following decontamination and medical evaluations at Memorial Regional Hospital and the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

The outbreak occurred in a single classroom. Not all of the 21 students in the class were affected.
