LONG BEACH, Calif. — The death of a 10-year-old girl after a school fight at Willard Elementary School was ruled as a homicide by the coroner’s office on Feb. 27.
Joanna Ramos was killed by blunt force trauma to the head on Feb. 24, the Associated Press reports. Ramos died after undergoing surgery for a blood clot on the brain following a fight will an 11-year-old girl in an alley, according to her sister.
Ramos was vomiting and complained of a headache on the afternoon of Feb. 24. She was unconscious by the time she arrived in the emergency room, and hospital staff revived her three times prior to the surgery.
