Spotlight on Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Eric Clay

Check out some of this Director of the Year finalist’s top accomplishments, as well as a photo gallery of him and his department.

Congratulations to CoxHealth System Director of Public Safety Eric Clay for being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Standardized all six hospitals’ standard operating procedures (SOPs) and obtained funding to improve the security department’s radios, which allow the hospitals to better communicate with each other.
  • Created his department’s own full-time training academy, offering more than 140 POST certified classes that are attended by CoxHealth officers, as well as law enforcement throughout the region.
  • Two of his hospitals obtained the Program of Distinction award from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
