Congratulations to Lynwood USD Chief of Security Paul Garcia for being named one of this year’s K-12 Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Implemented an anonymous reporting tool, resulting in a 5% reduction in student suspensions and 1,500 students being connected to mental health services.
  • Installed an intercom access control system so visitors are now required to check in at the front entrance and identify themselves via a camera and microphone.
  • Installed a visitor management system to quickly screen visitors and provide them with a temporary pass.
