Overall, 93 percent of all participants expressed confidence in their institution’s ability to deal with the immediate inquiries of media and other external sources. Respondents cited established protocols and permanent external affairs staff providing guidance on official messages.

Despite the high overall confidence, 52 percent of institutions cited moderate challenges in this category, including their school’s role in death notifications, especially for international students.
