Campus Safety’s Heroes of 2016
Georgia Southwestern State University Officer Jody Smith and Americus Police Officer Nicholas Ryan Smarr were responding to a domestic violence call in Americus, Georgia when Minquell Kennedy Lembrick shot them both. Smith and Smarr died as a result of their injuries.
The two officers graduated from the police academy together just over four years ago and we ask they, along with everyone who died while enforcing the law in 2016, remain in your thoughts and prayers.
