Spotlight on Higher Education/Healthcare Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Jerry Connolly

Congratulations to Jerry Connolly, Chief of Police at Florida SouthWestern State College, for being named one of this year’s higher education and healthcare Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Some of his notable achievements include:

  • Secured additional officer benefits, including holiday pay and shift differentials, as well as FSWPD vehicles for sworn officers.
  • Led multiple tabletop exercises with larger areas of the college, including Academic, Student Services, and Operations.
  • Saved FSW approximately $450,000 by eliminating a third-party security services contractor and reallocating the funds to hiring additional department employees, which enhanced the department’s capabilities.
