Congratulations to East Tennessee State University Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police Cesar Gracia for being named one of this year’s Higher Education/Healthcare Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

- Implemented the “Meet us before you need us” campaign to foster positive relationships with the campus community.
- By adjusting officer schedules and hours worked, developed a system that improved the work/life balance of campus police officers, bolstering morale.
- Brought on interns to assist with some day-to-day department activities, freeing up others to focus on higher priority issues.
