Spotlight on Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Tim Knight

Four years ago, BCSD implemented a School Resource Officer summer training program. This now annual, weeklong SRO training program offers training for Active Shooter, Defensive Tactics, De-escalation, Bomb Threats/Explosives, Child Abuse, Mandated Reporting, Child Sexual Assault, CPR, Mass Casualty and much more. This training grows each year BCSD brings in local and state partners, such as the prosecutor’s office and representatives from the Children’s Trust in South Carolina, to ensure SROs are prepared for any challenge they may face in schools.
