Spotlight on Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Marlon Runnels

Congratulations to Montgomery (Texas) Independent School District Chief of Police Marlon Runnels for being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Implemented and enhanced the following standard response protocols: lockdown, secure the perimeter, evacuate, shelter in place and hold.
  • Implemented and enhanced the district’s drug take-back program, theft reduction program, lidar guns for traffic control, explorer program, Stop the Bleed and more.
  • Provided agencies from surrounding jurisdictions with emergency response plans and campus layouts so each agency will know how and where to respond during an emergency.
