Congratulations to University of North Carolina Hospitals Police Department Director Kevin Phillips for being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

Expanded partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies to include North Carolina’s Fusion Center, NCISAAC ( North Carolina Information Sharing and Analysis Center).
Restructured the UNCH Emergency Department by adding INSERT security officers, NEST security officers and pro-room monitoring officers to better secure the environment.
Is in the process of receiving accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
