Congratulations to Jose Flores, chief of police at State Center Community College District Police Department in Fresno, Calif., for being named one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Some of his notable achievements include:

  • Expanded the number of sworn department employees by 300% in eight years and enhanced officer morale and professionalism.
  • Advocated for and implement an officer take-home vehicle program that resulted in improved officer response times, morale, and visibility.
  • Secured state-of-the-art drones for emergency response and situational awareness, providing a technological edge in campus safety.
