Spotlight on Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Stephanie Hill

Chief Hill and department officers explaining the new emergency alert system to students. The Alert Beacon, a wall-mounted device that sounds and flashes to capture the attention of building occupants at a distance and display a custom message about the nature of the emergency and how to respond. Students use the ALERTUS app to get notifications on their personal mobile devices. The ALERTUS system was purchased from the $1.9 million dollar Capital Funds awarded to the university for safety and security upgrades.
