Campus Safety Video News Roundup

In this week’s edition of Campus Safety’s news round up, we look at the issue of metal detectors in schools.

Campus Safety Magazine has so much valuable content each week that we’ve decided to start giving brief video overviews of some of the stories that have the biggest impact on the security industry.

In this week’s roundup, we talk about a couple of our stories that cover the debate over whether or not metal detectors should be installed in high schools.

Campus Safety has reported on calls from student advocates and parent groups to remove the detectors. Some people feel the detectors are unnecessary and send the wrong message to students.

On the other side of the debate are members of New York’s school safety division. Campus Safety recently reported on a gun being confiscated at a Brooklyn high school after being discovered by a metal detector, and reports have shown hundreds of weapons are confiscated each school year.

So check out the video, read the articles and let us know what you think about the metal detector debate.
