Here are the 10 most compelling research studies CS covered this past year.
K-12 campus security and child development have always been popular topics for academics, government researchers and the media, and 2016 was no exception.
This year, researchers from around the country revealed some extremely interesting findings on everything from student perception of campus safety to truancy, mass shootings, video surveillance and more.
For example, a Gallup poll found that more students fear for their physical safety in schools today than they have at any point since 2001. Campus Safety magazine found that two in three K-12 public safety departments don’t have enough staff. Media researchers at New Mexico State University found that mass shootings can be “contagious.”
