Univ. of Missouri to Spend $2.2 Million on Title IX Measures in 2016
The University of Missouri is adding measures to its Title IX education plan expected to cost $2.2 million.
The University of Missouri System board told school curators it plans to spend $2.2 million on Title IX education and prevention during the 2016 fiscal year.
The spending measures, unveiled April 9, will cover all four of the school’s campuses, according to columbiamissourian.com.
The measures include the development of an outreach plan at the school’s counseling center; the hiring of an investigator, counselor and additional support staff; training for selected staff in trauma therapy; and providing a confidential, 24/7 reporting hotline.
The university has already announced other measures it will begin taking before 2016. All incoming students will be required to take online violence training in the Fall, and the school is also collecting data about campus culture through sexual assault surveys currently being administered until April 27.
