2 Dead in Houston Hospital Shooting

A woman pharmacy employee at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston was apparently shot by a male co-worker Wednesday.

An apparent murder-suicide at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston left two people dead on Wednesday.

After viewing security video, police say it appears the man went up behind the woman in the hospital’s pharmacy’s work area and shot the woman before he turned the gun on himself, reports the Houston Chronicle.  Houston Police detectives believe the man had made romantic overtures to the woman. No other workers or customers in the area were injured.

“At this most difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two staff who lost their lives as a result of this senseless violence, as well as to every Harris Health System employee and the members of our medical staff,” said George V. Masi, president and CEO of the Harris Health System
