Trinity U Mourns Officer Death

Officer Marc Uland Kelley died Friday, March 14.

Trinity University Police Officer Marc Uland Kelley died on Friday while he was responding to a fire alarm call.

While on the call, the officer “fell ill and collapsed,” Trinity Police Chief Paul Chapa tells Campus Safety magazine. Chapa says Kelley will be deeply missed.

“Officer Kelly served his department with great pride as this was his first police assignment,” he says. “Marc stood 6’1” but was a gentle giant at heart. The relationship he maintained with his fellow officers was exemplary as he never spoke a negative word. His service to his community was commendable as he served with honor and integrity.”

Kelly served with Trinity University for three years and is survived by his mother Hughella Kelley, brother Brant Kelley and his sister-in-law, Joyce.

The family is currently making funeral arrangements.
