Tell Us About the Heroes on Your Campus!

Do you know an officer, administrator, teacher, clinician, vendor or someone else who helps to make their campus safe and secure? We want to hear about them!

Every day, someone at a hospital, school or university does something to make their campus community safer.

What they do could be dramatic, such as the school teacher who uses verbal de-escalation skills to prevent an active-shooter tragedy. It could be less obvious, such as the hospital security officer who makes the extra effort to develop and maintain his partnerships with emergency department staff; or the university Title IX coordinator who always goes the extra mile to ensure the sexual assault survivors she serves get the help they need. It could be the emergency manager who spearheads the upgrade of the campus emergency notification system or facilities manager successfully lobbying for the implementation of an upgraded lock and access control system.

These individuals often don’t get the recognition they deserve, so CS has created the Campus Safety Heroes program to honor them.

Who Can Be a Hero?
Anyone can be nominated to be a Campus Safety Hero, including:

  • Police and/or security officers from the campus or surrounding jurisdiction
  • Teachers and faculty members
  • Nurses, doctors and other clinicians
  • Administrators and other campus executives
  • Students, patients, parents and visitors
  • Campus staff, including secretaries, custodians, volunteers and visiting vendors and contractors
  • For more examples of heroes, click here.

Help us honor these individuals by participating in our Campus Heroes program. Winners will be featured in the pages of Campus Safety Magazine and on CampusSafetyMagazine.com.

How to Submit a Nomination
To nominate someone on your campus, simply email Campus Safety at Heroes@CampusSafetyMagazine.com, and tell us why your nominee deserves to be recognized for his or her actions in making your hospital, school or college more safe and secure.
