Congratulations to Clark County School District Police Chief James Ketsaa for being one of this year’s Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Deployment of body-worn cameras to all officers resulted in nearly an 80 percent reduction in legitimate citizen complaints and also holds officers accountable for inappropriate behavior
  • Equipped officers with stun guns
  • Partnered with Las Vegas PBS to create a datacasting system that broadcasts data over a wide area via radio waves. The system can broadcast anything from floor plans to student lists to help onsite officers appropriately respond to incidents.

The winners and runners up will be honored at the Campus Safety Conference in Philadelphia this summer.
