Southern Arkansas U Names New Police Chief

Anthony Williams will be the university’s first African American police chief.

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas University has hired a new chief to lead the campus police department.

Anthony Williams is the first African American to be named police chief at SAU, MyArkLaMiss.com reports.

He joins the SAU team after serving 30 years with the Dallas Police Department. Williams also has degrees in criminal justice, organizational management, business and education.

Williams’ goal as SAU’s new head of safety and security is to keep crime rates low at the university.
