2 Security Officers Honored for Saving Lives

Raisa Garnett helped get a baby out of an over-heated car, while Eleni Admassu prevented a man from committing suicide.

U.S. Security Associates recently honored two of its officers, Raisa Garnett of Columbia, S.C. and Elleni Admassu of Denver, for their actions in saving lives.

Garnett was on parking patrol at a local community college when a concerned citizen reported hearing the sound of a crying baby locked inside a parked SUV, sitting in the sun. She called 911 and worked with the responding officer to squeeze through the sunroof to get to the baby.

Her mother was inside, taking a final exam as the temperature rose to dangerous levels in the vehicle. Garnett was presented with commendation award.

Admassu was on parking patrol when she noticed a man attempting to commit suicide by carbon monoxide poison. After spotting a hose running into the car from the exhaust pipe, Admassu called emergency service personnel, who were able to revive the unconscious man and transport him to the hospital.

Officer Admassu was the recipient of the U.S. Security Associates Meritorious Service Award.
