Schools Must Be Better Prepared for Terrorism
School security expert says U.S. K-12 schools’ ability to respond to acts of terrorism has degraded due to them focusing too much on active shooters.
Safe Havens International Executive Director Mike Dorn believes that U.S. K-12 schools’ ability to respond to acts of terrorism has degraded over the past three to four years due to them focusing too much on active shooters.
In his exclusive interview with Campus Safety magazine at the Campus Safety National Forum in June, Dorn describes some of the measures schools should adopt so they will be better prepared to respond to terrorism or other life-safety threats, such as severe weather or Hazmat incidents..
Dorn will be one of the keynote speakers at the Chicago Campus Safety Conference, which will take place in Rosemont, Ill., July 13-14. To register for the conference, visit www.CampusSafetyConference.com/Chicago.
