Security technology can do wonders to protect a hospital, school or university. However, if the technology is not supported, the systems can be useless.
Security technology, such as metal detectors and visitor management software, can do wonders to protect a hospital, school or university. That said, if the technology is not supported by the appropriate policies, procedures and training, the systems can be useless.
In this interview with Campus Safety magazine, Safe Havens International Executive Director Mike Dorn provides an example of how great technology was rendered ineffective due to it not being used properly.
He also discusses ways campuses can address this challenge.
