Md. Student’s School Shooting Plot Revealed by Parents
The detailed attack was going to include explosives and take advantage of school emergency procedures.

A student at Catoctin High School in Maryland was removed from a classroom after her father told officials about the teen’s mass shooting plot March 23.
Nichole Cevario, 18, will face charges after police searched her home and discovered a detailed school shooting plot, a shotgun with ammunition and bomb making materials in her home.
Cevario is currently being evaluated in a local hospital.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for possession of explosive material with intent to create a destructive device and possession of incendiary material with the intent to create a destructive device, reports ABC News.
Frederick County Sheriff Charles Jenkins praised Cevario’s parents for stepping forward and preventing an attack.
Jenkins says Cevario’s shooting plan was laid out in excruciating detail in a journal, which also showed signs of mental illness and emotional abuse.

Cevario had been developing her plot “for some time and had been compiling intelligence on behavior activities of the school, noting emergency procedures associated with drills conducted by school staff and obtaining intelligence on the school resource deputy,” according to the sheriff’s office.
The teen’s journal detailed each stage of the shooting, which was set for April 5. Authorities say Cevario planned to die in the attack.
Frederick County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban posted a video on Youtube for the community March 27.
“Whenever you hear or see anything that raises concern, you need to trust us and come to us so that we can do the right thing and handle it just like we did in this case,” Alban said. “Those relationships, that trust, that’s what enables the policies and the procedures that we have put in place to keep our school safe to work. And they did.”
Authorities say they believe Cevario acted alone and there is no continuing threat to Catoctin High School.
