Occasionally, however, a member of that community goes above and beyond to ensure the safety of their campus. It’s for this reason that Campus Safety has begun honoring the heroes that have worked to make campuses safer around the country.

From school resource officers to students to doctors, Campus Safety has seen people from every background distinguish themselves to meet the true definition of a hero.

Sometimes these heroes do something dramatic, like saving a life or averting a disaster. Other times their actions are more subtle, like improving emergency plans or reporting suspicious behavior.
