‘Domestic Violence-type’ Hospital Stabbing Leaves 1 Dead

A man is in police custody after a woman was stabbed to death while visiting a family member inside the Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Illinois.

A woman who died Sunday is believed to have been stabbed to death by her estranged husband while she visited a patient inside an Illinois hospital.

Javier Bahena, 43, has been taken into custody after Wisconsin-native Francisca Quintero, 42, was stabbed while visiting a family member at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, according to the Chicago Tribune. Quintero was pronounced dead at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday.

Quintero and the man were both visiting a relative at Alexian Brothers around 11:30 a.m. when Bahena allegedly stabbed Quintero in an attack police are labeling a “domestic violence-type incident,”reports the Chicago Tribune.

The hospital was never placed on lockdown and no one else was hurt.
