IAHSS Conference to Address Healthcare Security and Safety Issues

International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety 47th annual conference will take place in St. Louis May 3-9.

Highlighting topics from Ebola to civil unrest and from workplace violence to drug diversion, presenters at this year’s International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety 47th annual conference and exposion will address many issues that affect hospital protection professionals today. This year’s event will be held at the Hyatt Regency St Louis at the Arch on May 3-6, 2015.

Nahid Bhadelia, M.D, M.A, will serve as the keynote speaker and discuss Building Sensible Health Safety Policies and Procedures to Address Threats from Emerging Pathogens. Bhadelia has worked to design emergency protocols for a controversial Biosafety Level 4 lab at Boston University’s National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories, which would allow BU to study high risk viruses like Ebola in a controlled environment. She has also traveled on several occasions to Sierra Leone to treat Ebola patients. 

At the IAHSS conference, industry newcomers sit alongside seasoned healthcare security leaders who come together to learn about best practices and tools to improve security, safety and emergency management programs within healthcare facilities.The program includes educational sessions and networking opportunities that encourage attendees to share experiences, exchange ideas and engage in discussions.
