Hospital Worker Arrested for Assaulting Patients in N.Y.

The suspect has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexual abuse.

An x-ray technician was arrested Aug. 20 after police say he molested two elderly women in a Brooklyn hospital.

Larry Jones, 65, was arrested for two assaults that allegedly occurred earlier that day at Kings County Hospital.

The first victim, an 83-year-old woman, reported that Jones pulled off her underwear and assaulted her after taking the initial x-rays around 12:30 p.m. Jones then allegedly put her on a gurney and wheeled her back to the emergency room. The woman told a clerk what happened, who notified hospital police officers.

Around five hours later another victim, a 57-year-old woman, told a similar story.

When the second victim noticed Jones later in the day she pointed him out to hospital police. The officers took Jones into custody and called the NYPD.

Jones was charged with two counts of sexual abuse, committing a criminal sexual act and forcible touching. He is being held on $7,500 bail.

Jones had worked at the hospital since 2003, reports the NY Daily News. He has been arrested eight times, although five of those arrests were for petty crimes and none of the offenses were sex crimes. He is listed as living in a homeless shelter.

“We are committed to the safety of our patients and have zero tolerance for such behavior and consider this a very serious allegation,” a spokesperson for the hospital says. “Our hospital acted swiftly in response to the patient’s complaint, and we immediately terminated the individual.”
