High School Senior Shoots Himself on Campus in Texas
Police say a 17-year-old student killed himself on the campus of Seguin High School on April 17.
Seguin High School was locked down after the shooting as police investigated the suspected suicide.
A 17-year-old student died after reportedly shooting himself in the head April 17 on the campus of a high school in Seguin, Texas.
The victim, whose identity is not being released, reportedly shot himself between two buildings on the campus of Seguin High School, where he was a senior. He was pronounced dead after being flown to San Antonio Medical Center.
The victim tweeted about committing suicide two days before the incident, but friends did not report it. At least one student witnessed the shooting and the school was locked down for three hours after the incident while police investigated, according to expresssnews.com.
The victim was the son of a Seguin police officer, and in the days since his death a GoFundMe page has raised over $11,000 for the boy’s family. Additional counselors are available at the school for students and staff.
