Healthcare Security Conference to Target Workplace Violence

Each year the conference brings experts together to address security concerns in the healthcare industry.

The Southeastern Safety and Security Healthcare Council will be hosting a joint conference August 28-31 with chapters of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety.

The 12th annual conference will focus on reducing the potential for workplace violence in the healthcare environment.

The North Carolina and South Carolina Chapters of IAHSS will be helping run the event, which takes place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Presentation topics will include managing threats of violence, creating workplace violence prevention programs, de-escalation training options, establishing threat assessment and response teams and more.

Industry experts such as Bryan Warren of the Carolinas Healthcare System, Lee Ann Jones of the Duke Medical Center and Robert Whiteside of Mission Health will be hosting sessions.

There will also be panel discussions and time to explore the vendor section.
