Ga. Hospital Shooting Injures Employee
No one was seriously wounded in the shooting.
Tevin McDonald led police on a manhunt following the shooting.
A hospital employee was injured after a man opened fire inside a private hospital north of Atlanta Wednesday.
Police charged Tevin McDonald with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony following a 40-minute manhunt in the neighborhood surrounding the hospital.
The incident began Wednesday afternoon when McDonald entered the Ridgeview Institute, a private mental health hospital, seeking treatment. At some point during his visit, McDonald got into a confrontation and brandished a handgun, eventually shooting his way out of the building and fleeing the scene on foot, reports wsbtv.com.

A hospital employee was slightly injured when a bullet ricocheted into his leg during McDonald’s escape.
Smyrna and Cobb County police officers chased McDonald into a residential area with their guns drawn and cordoned off the neighborhood. Eventually McDonald was taken into custody unharmed.
It is unclear what kind of treatment McDonald was seeking at Ridgeview.
