The IDP-FIRE-CO is a combination carbon monoxide (CO) and fire detector in one. It uses four sensing elements to provide the best fire detection and false signal rejection available—reducing nuisance alarms. In addition, the detector provides a separate carbon monoxide (CO) signal. When used with the B200S intelligent sounder base, the system ties together by providing the appropriate temporal signals, and because it can synchronize with System Sensor A/V devices, it becomes part of the evacuation signal vs. using a separate device.
The IDP-FIRE-CO multi-functional device eliminates the need for a separate CO detector, smoke detector, mini horn, monitor modules, and all of the associated wiring and junction boxes. It also eliminates additional addresses consuming points on the loop. The detector installed inside the sounder base is the only visible device improving the appearance of any room.

- The IDP-Fire-CO detector’s sounder bases can be synchronized with System
- Sensor A/V devices that may be located in hallway. This avoids the confusion conflicting sounders can create, particularly in dormitory situations.
- The detector’s sounder bases require no end of line (EOL) resistor or relay to supervise power, which allows for a flexible wiring design and big installation time savings, particularly on retrofit applications.
The marriage of fire and CO detection into one detector greatly reduces need for multiple devices, leading to reductions in labor and overall cost, in addition to providing a cleaner, less cluttered appearance. Multiple sensing elements offer faster detection and improve alarm verification, thereby reducing nuisance alarms. The IDP-FIRE-CO offers a host of features that make the detector fast and easy to install and program. Moreover, the detector is designed to meet the rigorous CO detection requirements prescribed by NFPA 72: National Fire Alarm & Signaling Code, which are mandating many university and hospital facilities install CO detectors now or in the near future.
