Atlanta Nurse Arrested for Assaulting Women Under Anesthesia

The man faces sexual assault charges after he allegedly groped at least two women.

A former nurse in Atlanta was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of multiple patients between February and April.

Michael Morgan, who worked at Northern Crescent Endoscopy and Atlanta Gastroenterology, allegedly groped the women while they were unconscious under anesthesia, reports ajc.com.

Morgan, 33, turned himself in on May 12 and a statement by his former employer said he is no longer employed there.

“We take patient safety very seriously and are shocked and concerned about this allegation,” the Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates’ statement read. “We conduct background checks as part of our hiring process and have procedures in place to maintain a safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.”

An arrest warrant shows Morgan admitted to at least one assault and to unnecessarily giving the victim Propofol, an anesthetic, to keep her sedated longer.

Fox 5 reports that two pastors reported the assaults to Sandy Springs police, although the pastors wouldn’t say how they learned of the alleged crimes.

Morgan faces sexual battery and sexual assault charges.
