UT Knoxville Hires New Police Chief

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee, Knoxville has hired the chief of police at the University of Wyoming as its new police chief.

Troy Lane will start his new job at UT Knoxville on June 25, WBIR.com reports. Lane has served as chief at the University of Wyoming since 2007, supervising 14 sworn officers and 10 support personnel. UTPD has 79 full-time staff, which includes 52 sworn officers.

Lane will be replacing former chief Gloria Graham, who left in January 2012 to become assistant chief of police at the University of Chicago.
