N.Y. District Tests 'Eyelid' Cameras

Port Washington Schools is testing a technology by SituCon System, Inc. that consists of a software-controlled eyelid that covers cameras until danger strikes. School officials are equipped with a button which alerts first responders and opens the eyelids on the cameras when pressed.

Wait, so they just want to record the aftermath? Wouldn't this be like purposefully getting caught with your pants down? In my opinion the only way to properly use video surveillance is 24/7 monitoring.

So the key fob button is wireless and can be hacked fairly easy I bet. Not a very good product overall but a good marketing program.
