Spotlight on 2011 Director of the Year Finalist Ralph Webb

Ralph Webb is Captain with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) and is responsible for police and security at the Los Angeles Community College District. Some of his accomplishments include:

  • Worked with more than 16 agencies in facilitating three major training exercises to prepare the Los Angeles area for a swarm attack
  • As the number of officer vacancies rose and with no funding to fill these positions, Webb and members of his staff worked one day per week in on-campus deputy positions
  • Created a crime analyst position, which led to the implementation of a crime mapping program
