COLORADO — New programs implemented by the University of Colorado Police have been credited with reducing drug and alcohol violations on campus during the 2010-11 school year.
From July 1, 2010 to June 30 of this year, CU police issued 381 drug citations and 516 alcohol citations, the Colorado Daily reports. This was a 10 percent decrease from the previous year.
CU Police partnered with the Office of Student Conduct to introduce a "Responsibility 101" class to freshman orientation in 2009. The class provides safety tips and an overview of university policies on drugs and alcohol.
