Marks USA of Amityville, N.Y., a NAPCO Security Systems company, releases the Loc-Down classroom intruder ANSI/BHMA F110 function leverset with clutch design. It incorporates all of the standard features of the company’s Survivor Series locksets with its new life-safety classroom intruder function.
The solution allows users to lock down a classroom instantly at the first sign of trouble outside. Typical classroom function cylindrical locksets are designed to be locked or unlocked from the exterior with the interior always in an open position. However, in emergency situations, teachers can secure classrooms without stepping into the hallway to lock the outside handle, according to the company.
The exterior lever is disabled by operating the interior lock cylinder.
