INDIANAPOLIS —A gay teenager claims he brought a stun gun to school and fired it into the air to defend himself from bullies. The teen has been expelled.

Darnell “Dynasty” Young, 17, said he faced daily harassment at Arsenal Technical High School and reported the bullying to school officials more than 10 times, MSNBC.com reports. Young’s mother said she gave her son the stun gun for protection because the school wasn’t doing enough.

Young fired the stun gun on April 16 when a group of students encircled him and threatened to beat him up. The group dispersed, but Young was arrested and later suspended.

Young may return to school in the district on Jan. 7, 2013, MSNBC.com reports.

Everyone has the right to defend themselves. He did not touch anyone with the non-lethal weapon. What about the bullies? Why aren't they suspended? Victimized by the school too.

"Bullies are cowarts" first of all think about it, anytime they have to form a group to make fun are say and do ulgy things to someone means they're just as scared. Thats why they did not do it by themself..........

If he went to school officials and they did nothing. What is he suppose to do? He needs to defend himself some how. Obviously he couldn't against a group of students. Were his parent involved? Who knows but if you get fed up with something it pushes you to drastic measures. The school officials, and bullies should be punished too. I don't blame the kid for trying to defend himseld since no one else did.

Bullying is illegal and it's immoral, the principal of the school should go to jail for hate crimes. Zero tolerance, means the SCHOOL is responsible.
